The Granny Smith apple has bright green skin with a crisp green texture, perhaps the best adapted apple that is grown throughout the fruit belt, and the Granny Smith apple ripens in late October. The Granny Smith Apple Tree is an excellent apple for eating straight from the tree, or for cooking into apple pies, apple fritters, and many other desserts. This apple has the most vibrant colors of any Apple cultivar, and in Canada is referred to as the “Green Delicious Apple”.
