The Morris plum tree is an important commercially distributed plum to supermarkets and was introduced by the  Texas A and M University horticulture department.  The deep red skin surrounds a tempting, large round fruit that has a deep red flesh that is tantalizing and gratifying with a pleasurable aroma.  The Morris plum requires 800 chill hours in order to set a fruit crop.
