Sand Plum Tree

Alternative Views:

The Sand plum tree,  Prunus angustifolia 'Chickasaw' is a common native plum to the United States that is found growing in the Southeastern United States that usually can be found growing along field crop fence lines in clumps, that sprout from the seed of wild plum groves that were left by wildlife birds and other Wildlife animals that feed on the fruit.  Wildlife and children love to gather in May and June around these Chickasaw trees to feed on these plums that ripen in varying degrees of sour and sweet flavors.  The Sand  plum is an excellent pollinator for plum trees because of its constant production of flowers, pollen and fruit over an extended period of time.  This Chickasaw plum tree is recommended as a companion, pollinating tree for most other commercial plum cultivars.

Not what I expected. How high is five feet in your world? In Kansas I'm five feet tall and my trees barely reach my shoulder.
