Climax Blueberry Plant

The Georgia Experiment Station in Tifton, Georgia revolutionized Berry Plant Production in the 1960's when Otis Woodard, Tom Brightwell and Dr. Max Austin introduced new hybrid Blueberry plants called Rabbiteye Blueberries. Now thousands of acres of Rabbiteye blueberries are planted to transform berry production in the United States.

Neither the berries or the blueberry plants are bothered by insects or disease. The blueberry plants, once planted seem to thrive on neglect.

A three-year old blueberry plant can easily produce a gallon of delicious blueberries; a five-year-old plant can produce five gallons of blueberries, some are as large as quarters in clusters.

Giant fields of Rabbiteye blueberry plants have been planted in Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi and Texas. Hundreds of Acres of Rabbiteye Blueberries are growing near Alma, Georgia to supply the fresh blueberry market with nickel coin-size berries that can be frozen or dried and kept for years. Blueberries are high in nutrition and life extension.
