Noir Grapevines and Noir Wine Flavors

The famous Pinot Noir Grapevine is famous in French vineyards for the distinct flavor given to a wine that is produced there from specific soils, and climate factors that are somewhat variable every wine growing season. The Noir grapes are black (night in French) and from original Pinot Noir grape vine plantings the genetic unstable Noir (black) grape vines have mutated into hundreds of similar clones but with a different growth behavior and wine taste, depending on the many climate and soil factors, where it grows. Unfortunately, the Pinot Noir grape vine is considered very difficult to grow into a predictable Noir wine taste, whether in Australia, California or Europe. Even though the Pinot Noir wines are choice and highly revered they are variable from year to year in flavor just like the Noir classification of grape vine clones that have mutated into so many variations of the original Pinot Noir grape vines.
