Brazilian Dwarf Banana Plant

Alternative Views:

Dwarf Brazilian banana tree is a mutation of the tall growing Brazilian banana tree that is similar in  most respects to the parent tree, except the cluster of bananas when ripe is fat compressed and large.  The leaves and the ultimate height of the banana plant, of course, grow smaller (about one-half the size), and the eventual size of the mature tree is only about 6 to 7 feet, an ideal tropical addition for small gardens or for container growing.  The Dwarf Brazilian banana tree can be grown outside in USDA climate zone 7-10 with minimum protective cover.
